Barn wedding in Staffordshire
The Prep
The morning of Jennifer & Chris’ wedding we arrived at Donnington Park Farmhouse around 3 hours before the ceremony. Both Jennifer and Chris got ready on location and the entire day was all held at the farmhouse which was very easy for us.
I spent most of the morning with Jennifer and Her bridesmaid, whilst Mike spent the morning capturing shots of the venue and the groom Preparations! Even the couples dog made an appearance at this wedding! We all love dogs!
Jennifer got ready In the bridal suite along with her little girl and her family. Whilst Chris and the groomsmen enjoyed a pint on location!
Jennifer had previously said to her sisters that she wouldn’t be having bridesmaid on her wedding day! However she surprised them in the morning with their bridesmaids dresses and of course her sisters were over the moon! This can be viewed in the wedding trailer!
Chris presented Jennifer with 12 Red Roses representing the 12 years that they had been together.
The Ceremony
The ceremony was held in the main hall at Donnington Park Farmhouse with it’s stunning brickwork and barn vibes! Truly a lovely place to have a ceremony.
The Guests took their seats whilst a beautiful Harpist played the bridesmaids and the bride into the ceremony! After a beautiful ceremony, the couple exited to the cheers of their guests and a barrage of confetti then straight into their drinks reception outside in the lovely courtyard.
The Reception
After the couple had some time to mingle with their guests after the ceremony, we got the chance to take them out for a wander in the local fields around 3.30pm. We enjoy this time as we get to have a chat with our couples and make them feel comfortable! Chris fetched their furry friend for a wander too!
We often take couples out twice as it allows us to get some different shots with differently lighting! After the speeches which were absolutely hilarious by the way! we took the couple out for me alone time just before the first dance and the evening guests arrived. The lighting was just perfect around 7pm for some gorgeous silhouette shots around the property. We took the for a wander around the other side of the property this time. Mainly filming around the rustic barn and using the golden hour sunlight to perfection!
The first dance happened with friends and family joining in towards the end. The couple chose to have a band for their wedding which sounded brilliant! We do love a good band! We left the wedding shortly after first dance, it was a brilliant barn wedding in staffordshire!
